Premios Spirit 2021: los nominados.

La carrera por los premios a lo mejor del cine independiente comenzó con el anuncio de los nominados para la edición 2021 de los Independent Spirit Awards.

La lista la encabeza la cinta Nunca, casi nunca, a veces, siempre, de Eliza Hittman, con siete nominaciones. Le siguen, Minari (postulada en seis categorías) y Ma’ Rainey’s Black Bottom y Nomadland, con 5 nominaciones cada una.

Nunca, casi nunca, a veces, siempre competirá por el galardón como Mejor Película, Mejor Dirección, Mejor Actriz Protagonista, Mejor Actriz de reparto, Mejor Guion, Mejor Cinematografía y Mejor Edición.

Es importante hacer notar que estos premios se dedican a las películas cuyos presupuestos no exceden los $22.5 millones de dólares, por lo que filmes como Mank y The Trial of the Chicago 7, no son elegibles para los Spirit.

Estos premios se consideran como una antesala de los ganadores del Oscar, ya que cuatro de las siete últimas cintas premiadas en el premio Spirit recibieron también la estatuilla dorada de la Academia.
