El más
importante festival del cine independiente en Estados Unidos ha concluido su
edición de 2024, luego de 10 días en que se presentaron más de 150 largometrajes,
seleccionados de las más de 15,000 propuestas que se recibieron.
En
anteriores entregas del Sundance, se han dado a conocer filmes como: Whiplash, Fruitvale Station, Beasts of the Southern Wild, Coda
y Vidas pasadas.
El
jurado de Sundance 2024 estuvo formado por 16 cineastas y artistas de todas las
secciones. Como jurados de la Competencia Dramática de EE. UU. estuvieron la
directora de Winter's Bone, Debra Granik; el guionista de Shortcomings,
Adrian Tomine, y la productora de Master of None, Lena Waithe.
El
productor de Navalny, Shane Boris, la directora de The Disappearance of Shere Hite,
Nicole Newnham, y el director de The Sentence, Rudy Valdez, formaronn
parte del jurado de la Competencia de Documentales de Estados Unidos. La
directora de The Babadook, Jennifer Kent, y la directora de Mississippi
Masala, Mira Nair, y el director de fotografía de Frankie, Rui Poças,
forman parte del jurado del Concurso Mundial de Cine Dramático.

The Jonathan Oppenheim Editing Award: U.S.

The Festival Favorite Award was
